^{I'm considering purchasing a 10" GTX boot (italics) for hunting/work in the snow, and an 8" leather lined pair for the rest of the year. Not married to those height combinations though. For those of you with the Hanwag Alaska boots - would you recommend going up a half-size in them? I have measured my foot using a Brannock device (the length and width measuring device that all shoe stores have) at a 10.5 D while wearing wool socks. My left foot was closer to a 10D, while my right was a 10.5D.
